Individual Note 1 (shared)

William Judd was born in Romsey in 1846, the fourth child and third son of Christopher Judd and his wife Betsey [Nee Lowe].

In the 1851 census, William was 4 years old and living with his family at Emery Down in the New Forest.

In the 1871 Census he was living with his parents, in Curbridge Titchfield,

but was described as "An Imbecile from birth"

Notwithstanding this he worked as an agricultural labourer, hardly the

safest occupation for someone later to be described as having suffered

from Epilepsy from the age of 10 years.

However Farming was probably less mechanised then, and possibly

less hazardous.

His sister in law Frances Judd notified his death, so it seems quite likely

that he remained a batchelor.

William, died aged 32, the cause of death given as Epileptic Fits, from

the age of 10 years and Syncope. [i.e.Loss of Conciousness]
