John Eastman was born six months after his parents marriage, on

September 27th 1840.

He was the son of George Eastman and Mary Anne Hunt, and was living in Shirley at the time of his marriage.

He gave his occupation as a labourer, as did his father, and was a bachelor

of full age.

The witnesses were, Alexander Hunt, a relative on his mother's side,

and John's sister Frances Mary Ann Eastman.

His bride was Sarah Judd, a spinster, daughter of Samuel Judd, a

Sawyer, and his fourth cousin!

They both signed their own names.

Sarah was living at Rownhams.

When his son Charles was born in 1867, John gave his occupation as

a Labourer in a Brickyard.

By 1894, John had died,according to his son Charles' Marriage Certificate.
